Karen Lediard is a Metis artist with an innate connection with Penetanguishene and the surrounding Georgian Bay area. Her passion for art was encouraged as a child by her Grandfather as he cut paper grocery bags for her to draw on.
Her Grandmother's chores of knitting, sewing, quilting, embroidery and canning were labours of love derived from necessity that launched Karen on a journey of discovery.
Karen designs and creates tradition hooked rugs, hand painted folk art pieces and knitting projects from mostly recycled materials. Her creative vision captures the spirit and heritage of family and the local area.
She does accept commissioned work by customers looking for a unique or sentimental item to keep for themselves or give as a special gift.
